Staff were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. Great location! Beautiful trail to the river. If possible, the small extra cost for a balcony room is definitely worth it!

Awful pool but great location and beautiful surrounding

A major reason we booked this hotel was for the large swimming pool. Unfortunately, it and the pool deck were extremely dirty and not well cared for. Trash, including items as disgusting as floss pickers, littered the pool deck. The tables were dirty and the pool itself had pieces missing. My daughter cut her toe on the loose pool tile and after that I decided we wouldn’t be coming back to the pool during our stay. Considering the heat and how much my daughter loves swimming, this was a disappointing decision but one I thought best for our health and safety.
I still gave it a three out five because if you’re not coming for the pool, the hotel is quite lovely. The cabanas are quiet and along a beautiful path / garden and the location is great for walking into town.

The rooms were clean, except we did find a scorpion on the wall in one of our rooms and we disposed of it directly. The AC's worked well and kept the rooms cool. The door to the bathroom in one of our rooms was out of alignment and would not latch closed. The pool was nice and the bar area around the pool was also a great place to relax. The kitchen and serving staff were outstanding! The breakfast burritos were ready for us for an early morning departure and were yummy. Coffee was also excellent. The grounds were well kept and parking was not an issue. It would have been helpful to know that the water in the rooms was not potable. However they did offer free refills of your own water bottle or container. WiFi worked ok too.

Clean room, nice pool, and close to some good restaurants and the San Ignacio marketplace. Easy to hop across the street and get a few snacks or groceries from the grocery store. Staff was flexible and you can pre-order your breakfast the night before on site if you are planning an early tour. Only downside was staying the second food room facing front (hotel guests and nighttime swimmers were a bit loud for someone like me who needed to get to bed early).

Really enjoyed our stay at the Midas! The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and ours had a fully equipped kitchen as well. The pool area and bar were relaxing, especially after a long day in the jungle. The staff were wonderful, especially the kitchen crew, who worked tirelessly to get breakfast orders out at 6 am, even when there was a citywide power outage one morning. Everything was within walking distance as well, just a short stroll to restaurants and services. Highly recommended!
