Absolute Gem.

I don’t want to give up the secret, but this family deserves all the praise that has been given in previous reviews. It’s like going back in time, a true family operation. Lynn and Craig are amazing. They were hands on ensuring that our stay was the best it could be. I left knowing how much they appreciated us choosing MacTaverne.
It’s an easy place to fall in love with. The rooms are quaint and comfortable. The pub….perfection, a true pub. Cold delicious beer served in a cold glass.
The food? Outstanding. Every item I had on the menu was brilliant. Locally, sourced, fresh, creative, yummy. Thanks Tim, that scotch egg…
The trails are extensive with groomed trails. Bonus! Shopping. A few clothing stores, gaming store, organic grocery shop etc.
A must visit! A group of 10 women in our 50’s and 60’s. Not 1 complaint!
MacTaverne has accomplished the impossible

Well located

Small inn well located near the Val David town center.
Nice welcome from the manager, despite the busyness (it is also a pub).
The room is a good size, clean, but with basic furnishings.
No fridge (there is a communal one), no TV, no safe, and no coffee maker (a Keurig is accessible on the 2nd floor).
We were worried about the noise and parking, but everything was impeccable.

We were on Le petit train biking trail and wanted a place to stay for one night and found MacTaverne. It’s family run they had a secure spot for our bikes. We had supper there which was outstanding! And breakfast the following day was included and delicious.
Our room was very clean, and staff were extremely helpful.

Perfect location right on P’Tit Train du Nord and center of Val David. Very comfortable beds and wonderful staff.

Delicious family owned gastro pub in a beautiful spot

Wonderful place we had visited 10 years before under different management. Now under a real family ownership, two brothers, with a newborn in evidence, grandparents, the works! But the food is the central reason to go. I had the chicken pie and the scotch eggs, unforgettable!
