A hotel to feel comfortable in

We were there for a little longer than a week and mainly went on a mountain bike vacation.
The room was good and nicely furnished, as well as clean.
The breakfast was wonderful, a selection of glasses, always well replenished.
There was a place to secure and store the bicycles.
The staff was very nice and helpful.

You eat with your eyes

Silkeborg Scandic has always stood for me as something special. I've been there since the hotel was built. My children were worried that we should stay there, even though it was actually in Herning that we were working on a design exhibition – twice a year, one week at a time.
Scandic had a delicious, clean and Nordic interior design.
Now I have had a break abroad, coming home and booking Scandic Silkeborg – and WOW! What a design downturn I got. Both in the room and in the restaurant.
Of course, you can draw nature into a restaurant – without trying to copy nature! Here, unfortunately, I think it has gone completely wrong. And in addition, the design has ruined some of what needs to work and be practical in a restaurant.
Among other things, the floor is so rustic that the heavy, clumpy chairs are quite difficult to move and adjust when you sit and eat.
And then the food.
Not since my visit to a very local bodega I have gotten so bad meat at a restaurant. I'm not the type who makes a theater for my own money at a restaurant, so I mentioned it to the waitress when I had to pay. She regretted... and that was it.

Disappointing experience

After our stay we must unfortunately express our disappointment over the stay.
The standard of the room we were assigned did not live up to the level we normally associate with Scandic. We are aware that rooms can vary in both decoration and size compared to the photos on the website, but room 1218, which we were assigned, can in our opinion not compare at all with the room presented on your website, in which we were looking forward to staying.
In addition, we experienced several things that were disappointing. When we checked in late at night, there was no hot water in the tap. In addition, one of the towels we found on top of the hat shelf did not smell clean. It was one of two towels and the other smelled fine and was ready for use inside the bathroom. -These basic things should at least be in order when booking a hotel night.
Although we first arrived late and only had to stay for a few hours, we had still looked forward to a comfortable stay in a room that lived up to the standard and price we had paid for. -Maybe we should have filed the complaint on the day (night), but understand rightly, when you check in so late, then this is not the time you dare to file a complaint.
We believe the stay did not live up to the expectations, one can rightly have for a stay at Scandic. We did not feel comfortable and therefore, unfortunately, it will not be a hotel, we will neither recommend to others, nor will choose again when visiting Silkeborg for that standard, for that price.

Accommodation

We unfortunately got a really bad service;we had booked from home with a price that we counted on:But no when we had to check in;then the price had risen by 200 kr and a very bad receptionist who just said that if we didn't want to pay extra;then he would not hand over the key and we could just drive again:So thanks for the fucking service

Lovely location and child-friendly

My girlfriend, myself and our 4 and 6 year old enjoyed our stay. The service was good, we had a room with a view towards the woods and the kids were happy about the pool and the armband we bought for them where they could eat as much popcorn and drink as much mocktails as they wanted.
