Don't be narrow minded

I recently stayed here. .. Not my usual hotel choice, the rooms are very basic and to the point of being an acid flash back... However and please read this bit! Although it is basic and twin beds, the room is clean the bathroom is small but very clean, I would opt for the ensuit despite the extra cost, but the true joy of this hotel is the owner, what a treat, he was very knowledgeable about the area and potential route we might take, and food, organic and beautiful, if you don't think the accommodation is for you, please try the place for food alone! Wonderful family run place.

They canceled us because of double booking.

Two days before we were going to Sölvesborg we were told by the hotel that they had cancelled us!!
When we called and wondered how our confirmed booking could be cancelled, we got the answer that it was due to double booking, and that we had to try to find something else ourselves!!
So we can not give a review of the hotel because we did not get there! But we think a warning is in place when such things can happen without it seeming to bother them in the slightest.

Is the Hotel still trading?

I booked this Hotel in April as part of a tour around Denmark and Sweden in July.
I was pleased with the prompt reply, I then confirmed the two days we'd be staying and was happy that this was organised.
We arrived in the town and had a short drive around to see Restaurants I'd checked on tripadvisor.
When we went to the Hotel, it looked fine at the front (on-street) but taking a lane around to the parking area...no cars.
Deserted.
The time was around 16.00.
Tried the doors. Locked.
A card said to call a number if closed. We went into the town in case they perhaps opened at 17.00, it is a family run place. Back later to find the same. Tried both of the numbers listed and found them to be non-existent - based on an automated message from the Swedish Phone Service.
I was concerned that I'd a problem with the Country code, calling from my UK cellphone. Tried it without, with the Swedish code and finally also from a direct hotlink from a search in Google.
All the same - no telephone number worked. All resulted in the same message from the Swedish Phone service.
So - disappointed and angry at the end of a cold, wet Solvesborg summer day after about 300km (we were on day 12 of a motorcycle tour) we hit the trail again and used the Garmin GPS to find a B&B an hours travel farther South. I wrote a review for it - in Åhus - in tripadvisor too!
So - Emma.
If you are still in business, think of how much money your family have missed out on if you ignore previously confirmed customers.
If the Hotel is not in business - maybe this is why.
Please take care if you wish to book. Their website also very much maximises the absolute best of the building. It's not so great when you stand outside on a wet day. I've never found a shut door at any Hotel or B&B I've booked until here!

Piccolo ma accogliente hotel

Sono stato ospite dell'hotel Edgar durante un viaggio di lavoro a Sölvesborg. Gli ambienti sono molto piacevoli e il gestore amichevole e disponibile. La camera decisamente piccola ma dotata di quanto necessario, pulita e accogliente. Non avrebbe guastato la presenza di un tavolo ma sono disponibili quelli nell'area colazione e ristorante (in questo periodo aperto dal giovedì al sabato).
Comoda l'area parcheggio riservata e due supermercati a pochi passi.
Su richiesta disponibile anche il servizio lavanderia.

Super hyggeligt Hotel

Super hyggeligt Hotel med god beliggenhed.
Værten er sød og imødekommende.
Lidt ældre stil pænt og rent Hotel midt i byen.
Beliggenhed er god og byen er er besøg værd.
Mörum elven ligger blot et stenkast fra Hotelet.
