My favorite place to stay in Uzbekistan

When I compare the accommodation in the country, be it in Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent or Kokant and Andijan, the "Optimist" is my favorite. It is certainly largely due to its owner Iskander and perhaps also to his age of around 75 years, which is the same as mine. But there is also the accommodation, a well-kept but not pompous property with a few guest rooms around a small courtyard, which is filled with trees and flowers. Iskander and his young granddaughter speak English quite well, so nothing stands in the way of communication for practical inquiries - which is by no means common in the country, even in a tourist metropolis like Samarkand. And, what is particularly important: the bathrooms are fully functional, modern and clean.
