Recommend for single traveler's, friends and families

I was heading up north to pick up my kids from camp and wanted a place to stay to avoid the long drive the day of pick up. I arrived at the Arlington at 1:30 am, and the gentleman working at the front desk waited for me, which I greatly appreciated. My first impression was how much I loved the character of the place, its unique design, rustic and warm. When greeted, I was given towels and shown where the communal kitchen, washroom, and my room were. The house was quiet and peaceful; I slept like a baby. I had to leave early; there was no need to check out, drop your key in the key box, and go easy and smooth. Lastly, the price was very reasonable. I would definitely go back. I would love to spend more time there; quaint country shops and country views surround the location.

Charming and the heart of the community

Look, if you want a sparkling souless minimalist box, refitted with the latest plastic every 6 months then you should head for somewhere a few hundred miles south. The Arlington still has a sense of community, an expectation that people talk to each other and that not everything is an instagram opportunity. Sure, it looks old and the decor is tired. Sure the bathrooms are shared, but the food is top notch, the company is always willing to talk and the staff are wonderful.
We stayed two nights, everything was clean, everything worked, we watched films with the locals, read great books, ate fantastic pizza and had wonderful conversations with people. I wish more places were like this.

Dirty old place

Rundown dirty place with moldy shower, overflowing trash bins in kitchen and bathroom, old uncomfortable mattress, only reachable via telephone, no response on email, we won't go back. And watch out for the "canyon" in the parking lot.

Always a pleasure

I live locally but since the Arlington has a bar and great music, I sometimes need accommodations after enjoying a fun night there. It's such a unique and awesome feature for a rural watering hole to provide a place to spend the night. There are a variety of price points and the management is really easy-going. I find the rooms to be clean and they're well decorated to boot

Old and dirty

The kitchen and the bathrooms are very dirty and old.
The kitchen was small, and it was a mess with old food everywhere; in the fridge, on the table. Table was dirty, the cooking stuff looks like it's never washed.
Taps and showers in the washrooms are broken. The taps, where I wanted to get a drink, have only warm water. The showers have only cold water.
Also the rest of the building is old and dirty and the owner acted like he was surprised by our reports.
