Este hostal de gestión familiar se encuentra rodeado de hermosos jardines y está situado a 100 metros de la playa El Playazo. El hostal ofrece 6 habitaciones amplias con una terraza privada con vistas panorámicas al mar y a la sierra de Almijara.

Book it, you won’t regret it.
What a gem of a family run hotel/ hostel. We truly enjoyed every minute of our 3 night stay. Our only mistake was not eating in the restaurant of the hotel on 2 nights instead of just 1.
We emailed Alex in advance to ask about car hire & how easy it would be to drive to the hotel from the airport. She was very helpful & that was how she remained during our stay.
The room was quaint but well furnished with a comfortable bed & a decent en-suite. The balcony was large with a table & chairs. It looked across towards Nerva, it was very relaxing sitting there in a morning with a cup of coffee. We did sleep well, but occasionally you could hear motorcycles/ mopeds fly past. There was a sun terrace on top of the hotel with comfortable seating.
Breakfast in the morning was a real bonus, excellent variety and lovely fresh produce, and nicely presented. You were offered fresh orange, a choice of hot drinks, freshly made bread toasted, jam & marmalade. Then you could choose from the menu a main option. We had the cooked breakfast & vegan option. The French omelette with fillings. Also the fresh fruit, yoghurt, muesli & honey. They were all excellent.
We had an evening meal on the Tuesday which was the best meal of the holiday. We had pate with a wonderful side salad, and Kofte meatballs. Then Sea bass & Beef Stroganoff. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. The entire meal was amazing. Fine dining all the way. We were disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open the following night, but obviously the owners need a night off.
The walk into Nerva was about 25 minutes along the path next to the beach. It was perfectly safe walking back along there on a night.
We had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Well looked after by the owners & staff.

BEST EXPERIENCE
This is the fourth time I have stayed at Avalon and as always it was amazing. I feel like it is my second home. Alix, Kevin, Christian, Natalia and all the staff welcome you with open arms.
I was there for New Year. It is the first time I have ever been away for New Year and I would certainty spend it there again. The New Year's Eve meal was an absolute tribute to Kevin and his staff. I have never tasted food as good as I have at Avalon

An excellent stay
An excellent stay. Lovely room, with a terrace with a view over the sea, the mountains and Nerja town.
A great night’s sleep in very comfortable bed.
Alix and Kevin were very genial hosts, and all of their team were friendly and helpful too.
All of the communal areas were lovely, a roof terrace, a terrace to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. Inside the cosy bar and dining area was welcoming with its lit fire, ( it was a chilly few days in early March).
Breakfast was fabulous, all cooked to order, and it looked as good as it tasted, even home baked bread.
The Avalon isn’t a bland, modern spa/ pool place to stay, nor does it claim to be……it is instead a place that offers a more traditional option, a place with HEART.
Try too, if you’re able, to eat dinner here at least once, it was one of our favorite places to eat over our 3 week tour in Spain. A good & varied, yet small, menu filled with freshly prepared dishes, all which we found were very, very delicious.

Amazing!!
We had the best time here. Such a lovely staff, great rooms, stunning view and amazing breakfast! Definitely recommend!!

Great place with bad attitude
The staff are so rude and have an attitude towards the guests that is not comfortable. We landed at 23.00 in Malaga but had to sleep in the car the first night because they refused to check us in after 22.00. This despite the fact that we sent copies of the passport etc. Neither did anyone contact us before arrival to try to resolve the situation. Not once were we offered a compensation, could have been in the form of refund for the first night, discount on the dinner we ate (8 people) drinks .. well anything. Not a word! They only like guests from the UK, you could clearly see that. The food's good- the cred. You still have to give the poor cook. I would have liked to write another review, but their lack of empathy and ability to solve means that I can not. Poor treatment.
